Councillors delegate decision on Ashurst homes
WEST Lancs councillors have delegated a decision of proposals to build 45 two, three and four-bedroom homes at Ashurst.
At a meeting of the council’s planning committee it was agreed to delegate the decision of the application by Gleeson Homes Ltd. to the director of development and regeneration, in consultation with the chairman or vice-chairman of the planning committee.
The scheme proposes to offer discounted market housing on all proposed units, and low-cost home ownership on various house types.
In the report for the meeting, the director of development and regeneration at West Lancs Council, John Harrison, said: “Subject to conditions, I am satisfied that the proposed development is compliant with the Local Plan in respect of drainage, highways and ecology.
“In principle I consider this scheme should be supported as it will deliver housing in a sustainable location and will offer wider regeneration benefits to the area.”
