  • Midstream team’s ‘passion for fashion’

    Henry James

STAFF and students at Midstream training and daycare in Skelmersdale showed their passion for fashion at a recent event put on by the Pathways to Adulthood team.

Students at the centre in Penrose Place, West Pimbo have been working hard learning all about fashion as part of their community class, visiting Liverpool Community college fashion department, watching live fashion shows and even taking part in their own photo shoot.

Midstream clients and youngsters from Mill Green School in St Helens were invited to design and model their clothes and strut their stuff down the catwalk at the Pathways Fashion Show. The themes included Disney, recycling, nature and food and everyone was dressed to impress.

The event also raised money for Dream-makers Drama group, a local charity which provides theatre workshops for adults with a learning disability.

And Pathways staff surprised the audience with a Star Wars-themed act to mark international Star Wars Day, May 4.

Pathways teacher, Nicola Dilworth, said: “The students have worked so hard putting this together and we were thrilled to see such inventive themes and imagination in the clothes designs. It’s been a rich and wonderful experience for us all.”
