College student nominated for Francesco hairdressing competition - Spotlight
WEST Lancashire College Level 2 Hairdressing student Simone Ashurst was recently nominated for Francesco hairdressing competition – Spotlight.
The competition was created by Francesco as an All New College Competition for 2016 running for Hairdressing students with less than three years’ Hairdressing experience.
The competition nominees were assessed on cut and finish and colouring techniques throughout the competition. West Lancashire College Hairdressing student Simone created a brown and blonde blended creation on a long haired model.
Part one of the competition was the In-College Photographic Heat were Simone submitted and sent her portfolio off to the Francesco Spotlight judges along with 700 other students.
Simone’s work did not go unnoticed as she was selected as a finalist and was placed straight into the final 15 and was invited to attend the Live Heat and Final in the Stafford academy.
Emma Forgie, Simone’s Hairdressing tutor said: “I am unbelievably proud of what Simone created and how far she got in the competition. She is a great student who picks up techniques really quickly. Using Bayalage techniques she made a masterpiece and deserved fantastic recognition for her creation.”
Level 2 student Simone plans to continue her studies at West Lancashire College and work in the Hairdressing industry upon completion of her course.
