Footy girls’ ‘grand’ gesture’s a welcome boost for Men-Aces
A GIRLS football team have hit the target with a fundraising effort on behalf of the Skem Men-Aces.
The players from Dynamo Rangers squad raised £1,000 in sponsorship for the town’s disability football team by taking part in the Liverpool Colour Run.
Members of the girls team went along to a recent Men-Aces training session to present the proceeds of their efforts.
Mim Eaton from the Men-Aces said: “To receive the money was a wonderful gift and a magnificent surprise. This gesture totally blew us away.
“These young girls are doing their bit for their community and we want to say a massive thank-you to them.”
n On a sad note the Men-Aces have recently lost one of their players, Ken Chadwick, to cancer.
The group held a meeting where they sang their own version of Can’t You See The Smile On Our Faces as a tribute to their teammate.
