Upside down sign turns heads!
A BOOTLE barber has turned convention on its head after he had his shop sign fitted upside down!
John Lee is still not sure what inspired his unusual decision, but says the topsy-turvy title has proved a real hit with customers and passers-by.
Since the bemusing banner went up last month, people have been stopping outside the Litherland Road premises – with photos cropping up on social media.
John, 43, said: “The fitter was about to put up the new sign and I just said ‘I tell you what, can you put it upside down please?’
“He laughed at first and said nobody had ever asked him that in 20 years – then he realised I was serious and went ahead and fitted it!
“Within minutes people were stopping their cars and taking photos – it’s proved a real talking point and it’s certainly got the shop noticed.”
But in spite of his peculiar shop sign, John says he has no plans to introduce crazy comb-overs or back-to-front bouffants.
He joked: “A couple of people have asked if I can do a short, back and upside down! But the hair cutting is staying traditional, it’s only the shop sign that is unusual!”
