Bank staff’s community spirit pays double dividend for primary school
MEMBERS of the Co-operative Bank’s fraud and disputes team based in Skelmersdale have been ‘doing their bit’ for the community - at the double.
Staff at the Co-op’s Delf House headquarters in Southway held a pay day ‘dress down’ event, combined with an in-house bingo and cake sale, to raise £275 which they donated to St James’ Catholic Primary School. And their helping hand for the school didn’t end there.
Six volunteers from the bank also went along to the school in Ashurst Road and painted its Key Stage 1 nursery!
Nic Ward, one of the volunteers, said: “We were so efficient we even painted the reception as an extra!
“The headteacher, Mr Iliff, was over the moon with the work we’d done as he said this was a job that the school wouldn’t have got round to doing.”
