Golf day raises £2,500 for We Love Manchester Emergency Fund appeal
A CHARITY golf day at Mossock Hall Golf Club raised more than £2,500 for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund appeal or those injured and affected by the May terror attack.
A total of 51 golfers teed up in the event at the club in Bickerstaffe organised by Bryan Morley and Martin Flynn.
All the competitors wore specially-designed T-shirts sponsored by Fiddlers Lancashire Crisps of Rufford and a raffle was also held with prizes donated by local businesses.
The golf day raised £900 and the raffle £602, while Mike McCombe, landlord of The Hop Vine in Burscough, donated all proceeds from the sale of a keg of beer and also had collection buckets at the pub, together raising £1,100.
Bryan Morley said: “The golf day was brilliant. We had 50 men and one woman taking part, there was a presentation at the golf club and everyone went back to the Hop Vine for a buffet.”
