Writers visit care home to mark storytelling week
RESIDENTS at a West Lancashire care home were visited by two local authors to mark National Storytelling Week.
Poet Tony O’Neil started the ball rolling at the Sutton Grange Care Home in Greaves Hall Avenue, Banks, with his humorous observations of everyday life.
Tony is the People’s Poet of Liverpool, as well as the home’s Poet In Residence, and regularly visits members of its Writing Club.
And he was followed by novelist, Awen Thornber who read from her latest book, Foxtrot In Freshby (a combination of Freshfield and Formby) as well as talking about her life as a writer and the literary influences of the two areas.
Christina May from the home said: “Everyone was delighted with the visits.”
