Tesco worker braves the shave for charity
IT WAS double the joy for Tesco staff, who began a collection for homeless children in Merseyside as well as a close shave for café worker Angela, who raised charity funds with a buzzcut!
Barbara Murray, Tesco at Kew's Community Champion launched a special appeal on Thursday, November 1, for customers to donate a new pair of pyjamas, for these to be given to children from homeless families in the run-up to Christmas.
Following this, Angela Barcas from the store braved the shave on Saturday, November 3, when store manager Joe Leeson gave her the radical cut to raise funds for Macmillan Nurses in honour of her friend – before hairdresser Adele Brethertontook over to finish the job. So far, she has has raised more than £700 and is still collecting. To add to her total, call into the store and see a member of staff in the café who will pass your donation onto Angela or text SHAVE25208 to 70550 to donate £5 directly to the charity.
Barbara Murray said: “We are so proud of Angela for braving the shave and we would like to thank everyone who has helped support her fund-raising as well as the generous donations we have already had for the pyjama appeal.”
