Academy helps raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust
TALENTED youngsters from the Southport Piano Academy have raised £700 for charity.
Claire Kelly, the owner of the Academy, organised the seasonal event which was held recently at Dobbies on Benthams Way in Southport in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust's North West and Cumbria branch, with more than 40 schoolchildren playing piano solos to an audience of more than 100 people.
Zoe Stanmore, a volunteer for the Teenage Cancer Trust said: “This is an amazing amount that will go on to help teens and young adults across the North West. This equates to 23 hours of specialist nursing care for someone who is possibly going through the very worst time.”
