  • Frankenstein comes To The Little Theatre

    By Ron Ellis

THE SDC Youth Theatre’s production of Nick Dear’s Frankenstein opens at the Little Theatre on Tuesday, March 12 and runs until Saturday, March 16 at 7.30pm each evening.

Premiered at the National Theatre in London in 2011 starring Benedict Cumberbatch, this is a retelling of the Mary Shelley classic.

Science and technology have transformed the world of 1818 with inventions beyond mankind’s wildest dreams…but one creation is on the verge of dragging humanity to the brink of destruction. Victor Frankenstein’s childlike yet grotesque creature is cast into a cruel and unsympathetic world, he is a wounded, hunted animal, and he will seek a terrifying revenge.

Directed by Paul Wilkinson, this thrilling, visceral production of the classic gothic-horror story will excite, inspire and enthral audiences, however it is not suitable for very young children.
