  • George is VIP guest at fundraiser

    Danielle Thompson

Hairdressers at a salon in Tarleton raised more than £380 for an animal charity with a special fund-raiser .

Salon team leader Louise Cousins and the team at Headlines Hair on Church Road participated in the annual ‘Big Hair Do’ which raises money for charities that each salon chooses for themselves. They chose Woodlands Animals Sanctuary in Holmeswood.

The salon was also treated to a surprise visit from Woodlands trustee Liz Gould and one of its resident hedgehogs, George.

Louise said: “Woodlands Animal Sanctuary was our chosen charity because we are all huge animal lovers and we also like to try support our local charities within our close community and the surrounding villages.”

Liz added: “Money raised at events like this makes a real difference to us and the animals we care for. The funds that they raised will go directly towards the care of the animals we have on-site.

“This time of year is very busy and very expensive for our charity, as we deal with increasing numbers of hedgehogs, often baby hoglets, as well as kittens.”
