Teenager sustains head injury after 'disgraceful and sustained assault'
DETECTIVES are appealing for information following the “disgraceful and sustained assault” of a teenager in Maghull on Friday, November 22.
At 4.40pm, police were called to a report that a 15-year-old boy had been assaulted by three males on King George V Recreation Ground, near to Maghull High School on Ormonde Drive, sustaining facial and head injuries. He was taken by ambulance to hospital.
Detective Inspector Lee Wilkinson said: "This was a disgraceful and sustained assault of a teenage boy, who was thankfully not more seriously injured, and we're determined to find those responsible.
"I'd encourage any witnesses or anyone else who holds information, whether young people, their parents and carers, to come forward, and we will take the appropriate action."
