Three men handed gang injunction orders following widespread violent crime
THREE men have been handed gang injunction orders following widespread violent crime in the Skelmersdale area.
Joel Maguire, 19, Steven Grimes, 22 and Joel Dowling, 23, (pictured left to right) all from Skelmersdale, were given the order at Liverpool County Court on September 3.
The order forbids the trio communicating with each other, as well as a list of eight associates.
Restrictions have been put in place preventing the men engaging in any abusive, threatening or intimidating conduct, threatening to use or encouraging others to use violence, as well as congregating in a public place in a group of two or more people.
The men are also prevented from being in a vehicle with two or more people in the West Lancashire area.
If the order is breached, the men could be arrested.
Police applied for the order following a number of serious anti-social incidents this year.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “We have applied for these orders following significant criminal activity in the Skelmersdale area.
“The order helps to control the named individuals and reduce crime.
“We want to thank residents and would encourage them to continue supporting our efforts to keep the community safe
"If you suspect any criminality in your area, please contact police immediately calling 101. In an emergency, always call 999."
The order is in place until November 1, where a further hearing will take place at court to re-consider the application.
