A GROUP of walkers set out on foot from Llandudno all the way back to Bootle in a gruelling challenge that raised more than £4,300 for charity.
The 62 mile walk, which took them around 21 hours to complete, was to raise funds to support local charity TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) and their efforts to help local disabled children.
The walkers set off at 7.30pm from Llandudno and they didn't arrive back at The Gateway Pub until 4pm the following day.
TEAM organiser Kieran Owens said: “This was one of the hardest challenges we've ever done. We had to battle the coastline and when we reached Talacre beach we had torrential rain until we hit Liverpool.
“We did this four years ago and it was just as hard as it was back then! We managed to raise £4,344 for a local disabled child who is eight years-old and she needs a specially adapted tricycle which costs £1,400.
“The rest of the money will go towards our holiday home in Talacre beach, where we sent 70 families a year free of charge who deserve a much-needed holiday.”
TEAM is organising a walk up Mount Snowdon on September 22 and they want local residents to sign up for the challenge.
