Youngsters 'delighted' to meet children's author

by Danielle Thompson (February 2020)

YOUNGSTERS from three primary schools were delighted to be visited by an author dubbed ‘the new JK Rowling.’

Kristy Geraghty, a teacher at Larkfield Primary School in Southport, arranged for Dan Walker to visit her school as part of his tour of North West schools and invited staff and schoolchildren from Bishop David Sheppard Primary School and St John’s Primary School, both in Southport, to join them.

Dan is the author and creator of Sky Thieves, Desert Thieves and The Light Hunters fantasy adventure stories.

David Palmen, deputy head at Larkfield, said: “We were delighted to be visited by the country’s hottest new author. Dubbed the next JK Rowling, Dan talked about how and why he became an author. The children had lots of questions and were keen to get their hands on his latest book, The Light Hunters.”
