THE children and families at First Class Nursery on Kenyons Lane, Lydiate have been collecting for their local food bank.
The school discussed with their children how they can help other families and decided on a food collection.
A spokesperson for the nursery said: “Our families have been so generous, we originally started off with a small box, which the children had decorated, but very quickly we had to change it to a larger box, which we filled three times.
“At our recent Ofsted inspection, in which we received a good, our inspector was very impressed with how we were encouraging our children to recognise and support the wider community.
“South Sefton food bank came and collected our donations and our children helped to load up the van.
“We would like to say a big thank you to all of our families for your kind donations.”
