MAGHULL Town Council have spoken out to reassure residents during the extended coronavirus pandemic lockdown.
A spokesperson for the council said: “In these trying times, it is heartening to see the community rally around and volunteers coming forward to help those in need.
“We are supporting Sefton CVS in coordinating a network of volunteers working with vulnerable people across the town. Volunteers are assisting people without support by delivering shopping and collecting medicines. All the volunteers have been DBS checked. It is important during this time that people don’t fall victim to unscrupulous scammers and the Sefton CVS scheme provides reassurance of being part of a borough wide strategy led by the local authority.
People who need support can contact 0345 140 0845 or visit the Sefton CVS website at https://seftoncvs.org.uk/
“Whilst play areas are closed Maghull’s parks are open and people should use them sensibly to take exercise and observe the government guidance on social distancing staying two metres apart at all times. All equipment and sports areas such as the tennis courts remain out of bounds until further notice.
“Maghull Town Hall remains closed due to coronavirus restrictions but phone lines are being monitored and messages can be left using either 0151 526 3705 or the e-mail address email@example.com
“The council looks forward to when all of the town’s facilities can be fully used safely again. Until that time please stay home and stay safe.”
