MEMBERS of St Edmunds Choir raised more than £700 for the NHS with their ‘virtual performance’ of Like A Rainbow Shining – in just three days!
Composer Will Todd released the song, dedicated to the NHS and key workers, at the weekend and encouraged choirs and singers to create videos like this heart-warming one.
Charlie Corkin, director of the St Edmund’s Choir, based at St. Edmund of Canterbury Church on Oxford Road in Waterloo, said that they were ‘moved by the beautiful words’ and immediately set about creating their video.
He revealed that they created the video using previous recordings from concerts and events, virtual performances and unseen rehearsal and performance footage.
He said: “The main reason why we have done this is to keep bringing music to people, put a smile on people’s faces and lift spirits. In just three days, we managed to create a virtual performance of it using some of our Choir members and it can be watched here. The words are beautiful, and we were really moved by them and the melody is simple yet refreshing.”
They have raised more than £700 so far, which you add to by visiting their Facebook page, St. Edmund’s Choir.
