Work is ongoing to resolve mains failure after it burst by Crosby Marina

WORK is ongoing to resolve a mains failure by Crosby Marina.

A spokesperson from Sefton Council said: “Green Sefton’s Rangers noted ground at Crosby Coastal Park becoming saturated with water on Friday, April 24. Our team immediately contacted United Utilities, who have been on site to assess the situation, which appears to have been caused by a fault with the UU infrastructure causing a main sewer to fail, discharging foul water into the ground, which ultimately flowed down the access road and into the lake.

“We understand that residents may be concerned about the type of water which is on the ground, but we would like to assure local people that we have been working in partnership with United Utilities and the Environment Agency to resolve this issue and works are ongoing.

“While we know people are keen to visit our wonderful parks and coastline for their daily exercise at this time, we would discourage people from this area until works are completed.”
