Urgent Welfare Appeal is launched to raise £50,000 for Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals

by Danielle Thompson (April 2020)

AN URGENT Welfare Appeal has been launched in bid to raise £50,000 for Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust.

Staff, volunteers and patients at Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals need your support more than ever – and say that they have been overwhelmed by offers of support since the coronavirus pandemic began.

The Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals Charity is doing everything possible to support these remarkable people. From doctors and nurses, to porters, volunteers, catering teams and support staff, there are thousands of NHS workers pulling together to tackle this crisis head on.

You can now support them directly by making a donation to the charity’s Covid-19 Urgent Welfare Appeal at https://is.gd/0qUEQL

All funds raised will go towards the purchase of key equipment and services. Anything raised over and above what they might need now will go towards helping the hospitals continue to give exceptional care in the future.

Chief Executive Trish Armstrong-Child said: “I would like to say thank you to our incredible, supportive community for the amazing outpouring of help, donations and positive words over the last few weeks. I feel proud every day coming to work, when I see the tremendous, tireless efforts of those around me.

“This support really does help to save lives, and allows us to support the well-being of our amazing teams, during this challenging crisis. If you can afford it, please do consider our charity at this time.”

You can leave your own personal message when making your donation, along with your contact details, so they can keep you up to date with the charity’s work.

You can also get in touch by emailing the charity direct at hello@sohcharity.org or by calling Ash on 01704 704714.
