NORTHERN Premier League Division 1 North West club Marine FC are continuing to work in partnership with specialist sport and education provider Elite Sports Academy to operate two Marine youth teams.

Marine FC in partnership with Elite Sports Academy will be hosting a festival of football this summer (date tbc due to the coronavirus).

This will take place at The Marine Travel Arena and will be a full day event open to year 11 students who have just finished school. They will be running a football tournament, delivering coaching sessions and holding skill zone competitions with prizes.

Elite Sports Academy managing director Paul Brannan said: “Current events are affecting everybody and this football festival will be a great event for people to look forward to. With many leagues being null and void football participation is one area which has been negatively impacted. This festival gives young players a chance to showcase their skills on the best football ground in the area, once social distancing measures are lifted.

“Our usual recruitment for the scholarship programme has been stopped in its tracks, so any players who are interested in being coached daily by UEFA licensed coaches at a fantastic brand new facility (Jeffrey Humble), and play matches at The Marine Travel Arena should get in touch and book a place for this fantastic football festival.

“The Marine FC scholarship team play in the prestigious National Youth Alliance League. The development team play in the English Colleges League as well as The FA Youth Cup and National Cup. The leagues are highly competitive and will stretch players and expose them to other club scouts when playing around the country. Additionally through Marine Reserves (West Cheshire League) and First team (Northern Premier League) it gives realistic opportunities for players to progress.”

Marine vice chairman Dave McMillan added: “This is another example of the long term partnerships that the club has fostered over recent years, Elite are a well respected and professional organization and it’s been a pleasure to deal with Paul and his staff.

“The pathways are there for talented players to embark on a football career but also to enhance their educational skills, and we are looking forward to hosting the event once we are able to reopen our facilities.”

To book a place contact Chris Stammers (Elite Academy’s head of football) on 07720 716830.
