HESKETH Bank Community Centre’s plans have been boosted by £1,582 donation.
The Trustees of the centre have been successful in securing the funds from NFU Mutual towards their redevelopment plans.
The National Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Society Limited, trading as NFU Mutual, is a UK registered mutual insurance composite, which underwrites more than £1.5 billion in annual premium life and general insurance for rural communities within the UK. The funds granted will specifically be used to kit out a social meeting space in the new centre to welcome those in the community and combat social isolation in the area.
Steve Kirby, chairman, said, “We are very grateful to NFU Mutual for this funding, which moves us a little closer to our target of £394,000 to providing a brand new, purpose built and fully accessible hall for the community, which we hope will be ready by the end of 2020.”
Having secured significant funding from the National Lottery, West Lancs Borough Council and Hesketh with Becconsall Parish Council, along with monies raised through a wide range of events and activities, the trustees now only need £25,000 to be able to start work on the new Community Centre to serve the villages of Hesketh Bank, Tarleton and Banks.
