RESIDENTS at a new care home were delighted to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day with a special afternoon tea.

Staff and residents at Ribble Park Lodge in Much Hoole came together to mark the anniversary of the end of the Second World War on Friday, May 8.

A spokesperson for the home said: “The home was dripping in red, white and blue with a delicious selection of traditional cakes.

“It was the perfect day for afternoon tea, with the sun shining through the lounge that opens out onto the courtyard filled with beautiful flower beds. Ribble Park Lodge are excited to hold more events and activities in Much Hoole in the near future, building strong relationships with local businesses and charities.”

They plan to expand, offering 40 new jobs in the near future.

Home manager, Sara Beardall added: “I’m excited and looking forward to welcoming new residents to this beautiful home where we provide a quality lifestyle in comfort and safety. It’s wonderful to offer local employment opportunities and for Ribble Park Lodge to become an integral part of the community.”
