A HUGE £33million 'neighbourhood development’ in Bootle has edged closer after a planning application was submitted to Sefton Council.
The Champion has previously reported how SAFE Regeneration has put together a 'masterplan' – known as #destinationbootle - to compeltely transform a six-acre area near Merton Road.
Some of the proposed developments include 107 affordable family homes, improved leisure facilities and a new microbrewery.
The Lock & Quay Community Pub, which is run by SAFE, will be refubished as part of the plans.
A formal planning application has now been sent to Sefton Council for approval.
Ellis Williams is the chosen architect who will work with structural engineers Clancy Consulting, SI Sealy Associates and BCA Landscape Architects as they look to design the project.
