GO Outdoors, which has stores in Southport and Bootle, has been given hope of survival after it was ‘bought back’ by its owners for £56.5million.
The Champion reported last week how JD Sports, the parent company of Go Outdoors, had pushed the business into administration.
The retail group hired administrators from corporate finance firm Deloitte, who have now sanctioned the purchase of Go Outdoors back to JD Sports.
However, the business will need to ‘fundamentally restructure’, going forward.
Go Outdoors have stores in Tulketh Street, in Southport, as well as Rimrose Road, in Bootle. The owners hope to keep the majority of its 67 branches and all existing staff will be transferred as part of the pre-pack administration sale.
