LANCASHIRE’S Police and Crime Commissioner has praised the Force after his 2019/20 annual report was published.
The 12 month period saw the growth of the local task forces, tackling local issues in communities across Lancashire after support from the public meant additional dedicated local office were put onto the streets.
It also saw a reduction in crime overall during period from April 2019 to March 2020.
It also saw Lancashire Constabulary named as one of the most efficient forces in the country by independent inspectors, in terms of how resources are used to tackle crime and keep people safe.
The Commissioner said: “My annual report provides a fantastic chance to reflect on the hard work that takes place every day to help make Lancashire a safer place. I am really proud of what we have achieved in the last twelve months and continue to achieve going forward.
“The unprecedented situation the Covid-19 pandemic has created has brought along its own challenges but I have been extremely pleased with the way the force has stepped up to these challenges and focused on protecting the public and keeping the county safe.”
