A couple have raised more than £1,700 for Rainbow Hub, a charity supporting children and young people with physical and neurological disabilities in Mawdesley.
Bank clerk Claire Lippett, 48 and her husband Craig, 49, a police office, have run the equivalent of four marathons during August, despite very hot weather!
They completed 26 miles each week – mostly on Formby beach, near to where they live.
They have raised £1,200 already, with Claire’s employer set to boost this by a further £500.
Claire’s niece, Katie Maddison, 14, also from Formby, has been attending conductive education at Rainbow Hub, Mawdesley since she was 18 months old and has made tremendous progress with their help. The family say that it is a fantastic charity which changes lives.
Mum of two Claire said: “Rainbow Hub does an amazing job, not just with Katie but with all the children they support. They really do change the lives of the children and their families. We want to thank everyone who has supported us.”
Lyndsay Fahey, interim chief executive at Rainbow Hub, added: “We are sending a huge well done and an even bigger thank you to Claire and Craig. What an amazing achievement for them both!”
