A GREAT-GRANDMOTHER who still enjoys a ‘tipple or two’ on Saturday nights has been celebrating her 105th birthday.
Former drama teacher, Elizabeth Burns, who is a resident at MHA Connell Court on Weld Road in Southport, celebrated her big day with socially-distanced visits from her family in the home’s garden and a party with fellow residents and staff.
She taught many successful students during her career, including Jeremy Clarkson!
Elizabeth has two children, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Asked if she was to re-live her life, what she would do, Elizabeth said: “I wouldn’t change a thing!” She still makes sure she enjoys a couple of her favourite drinks - sherry and a glass of Chardonnay - on Saturday nights.
Anna Harvey, home manager at MHA Connell Court, said: “Elizabeth is a delight to have as part of our Connell Court family, and has been instrumental in our recruitment process taking part in interviewing staff.
“Elizabeth has been with us for nearly four years now and may she have many more happy years with us.”
