THE team at HM Coastguard Crosby have warned that the car park at Burbo Bank has been closed off by Sefton Council due to us expecting high tides of over 10 metres over the next few days.
Not only can an unexpected wave pull you into the sea but the water can have unexpected dangers of rocks or other debris. Do not go close to the waters edge and keep your vehicles on the road. Do not move the traffic cones to gain access to car park.
They said: “A combination of high tides, large waves and strong winds could cause wave overtopping or high water levels. Stormy weather might produce breath-taking photographs but it might be the last breath you ever take if you’re there at the wrong moment!
“Please don’t risk your life to take pictures at the coast, however dramatic it looks. In a coastal emergency, always dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.”
