CAN you help a seven week old puppy who is suffering from severe dehydration?
Liz Gould, a volunteer fundraiser with Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary based in Melling, said: “We have taken in a Spaniel puppy, Klaus, that had been taken to a vet by the breeder to be put down because it was ill and the breeder said that they couldn’t afford the vet bills.
“The vet contacted Rescue Me and the puppy - which didn’t even have a name - was signed over to us. He had severe diarrhoea and was badly dehydrated. He is with the vet receiving antibiotics and on a drip. He’s far from out of the woods though . He’s been named Klaus and we are hoping for the best for him although he is still not eating.”
She revealed that they are set to host a used clothing collection on Sunday, December 6 from 10am-3pm at 4 Silverthorne Drive in Southport to raise much needed funds for the sanctuary.
She added: “We are collecting clothes, shoes, bags and belts only - no household textiles unfortunately.
“Every Penny we raise goes towards helping unwanted and neglected pets and other small animals - Sunday’s event will help us to help Klaus and other needy animals.”
