MEMBERS of the Rotary Club of Formby have teamed up with national charity ‘Kids Out’ to provide Christmas presents for children living in refuges in Sefton as a result of domestic abuse.
Christmas is always tough on families in refuges and this year promises to be harder than usual, said a Rotary Club spokesperson. Most children arrive at the refuge with just the clothes on their backs restricted to a single room with mother and siblings. Parents often struggle to provide basics let alone toys.
Formby Rotary wanted to support this initiative to provide the children with some toys of their own in the hope that they will provide comfort happiness and joy in difficult times.
They will provide 20 boxes of brand new toys to a Bootle refuge.
