MAGHULL Town Council delivered 100 Christmas hampers to vulnerable residents who have been nominated by voluntary groups, Councillors, support agencies and local individuals.
Community Services manager Phil Dillon said: “It’s so important that the council can offer support in this way to local people. Due to the covid 19 pandemic we have been unable to host our annual Christmas lunch for local pensioners, so the council decided to increase the number of hampers it is delivering to reach as many people in need of support as possible.”
The council would like to thank everyone who made a nomination. They also want to thank Morrisons in Maghull for their help in co-ordinating and supplying the items going in to the hampers and in particular all of the volunteers who gave their time to pack and deliver the hampers across the town.
The aim is that the hampers will bring some extra Christmas cheer to those that need it most.
