STAFF at the West Tower in Aughton have contacted the Champion to thank our readers for their support of their recent community campaign.
At the start of the month, we reported on how Stephanie Beqo, the general manager at West Tower, was supporting Mission Christmas Cash for Kids.
She was asking anyone who is able to help these families to donate a gift to the appeal, and bring it to the hotel.
Following our article, the hotel was inundated with presents, and Stephanie (pictured front page) said: “Following on from the piece you wrote earlier in the month we have had such a fantastic response. As you can see from the image (front page) the whole of the lower section of the building was flooded with presents.
“Our original idea of each staff member taking a car full of gifts each was nowhere near enough so we had to hire a transit van to transport all the gifts and even then we only just managed to squeeze them all in.
“Everything donated will make such a huge difference to so many local families and children so thank you so much to everyone for your generosity.
“My daughter Mia loved her role as head elf, organising all the gifts then loading them into the van – she has definitely earned her place on the good list this year!
“Thank you for your assistance with getting the word ‘out there’, as you can see it definitely worked.”
