MARINE FC has announced that their manager Neil Young has signed a contract that secures him at The Marine Travel Arena through to May 2024.
Young has masterminded the Mariner’s epic Emirates FA Cup run this season taking the Club to Round 3 for the first time since 1992 being drawn sensationally against Tottenham Hotspur. The game is to be played on January 10 at Marine.
The game against Tottenham Hotspur sees the biggest gap in the history of The FA Cup between two competing teams with Tottenham in 6th place in the FA Premier League and Marine in 6th position at Step 8 in the English football system.
Marine Manager Neil Young said: “I’m very pleased to commit to the next 3.5 years to Marine Football Club and I’m very proud to be the manager here.”
Marine Chairman Paul Leary said: “This is really great news for everyone at Marine Football Club.”
Meanwhile Marine has announced arrangements for the league game against Prescot Cables to be played this Friday (January 1) at The Marine Travel Arena with a 3pm kick off.
On Boxing Day Marine won 2-1 in a close encounter at City of Liverpool with Neil Kengni scoring the winner late into the game and in the last game before Christmas Marine won 4-0 at Kendal Town.
In agreement with the local authorities Marine is allowing a maximum of 400 spectators into the stadium for the Prescot Cables game. As a consequence of the strictly limited number of fans allowed, the need for track and trace information and to assist in meeting lockdown rules the game will be all ticket with tickets purchased only via Kaizen Ticketing Solutions.
Both Prescot and Marine are currently in Tier 2 of the government’s Covid-19 restrictions and therefore 60 tickets of the 400 capacity for this game have been allocated to away fans. Any Cables fans attempting to enter the Marine Travel Arena using home tickets allocations will be refused entry to the ground and no refund will be offered.
Spectators purchasing tickets must be resident within the Liverpool City Region postcode areas.
Adult tickets cost £10.75 including transaction and booking fees of 75p. Concessionary tickets for retired citizens and school children cost £6.50 including fees of 50p.
Tickets for the Prescot Cables game go on sale from 7pm on Monday, December 28 and can only be purchased using the link: https://marinefc.ktckts.com
Tickets purchased for this game will not count towards eligibility for the FA Cup game against Tottenham Hotspur.
Fans entering the stadium must have their e-ticket or printed ticket which will be scanned on entry at gates 1 or 2 on College Road. Turnstiles will be open from 2pm. In addition supporters are encouraged to scan the QR code within the stadium, using the NHS Covid 19 app from their smartphone.
Marine full members and junior season ticket holders should enter the stadium by presenting their pass at Gate 3 and must also provide their contact details prior to entering the ground for test and trace purposes.

Marine is also holding a sporting dinner at Inside No. 4 (formerly This Is Livin) on Friday, January 8 to kick off the incredible 3rd round Emirates FA Cup weekend.
Speakers will be John Roche and Keith Johnson, both former players who played in the only other time Marine played in the 3rd round of the FA Cup against Crewe in the 1992/3 season.
