Last month’s Santa Float in Southport raised more than £5,000, despite the coronavirus restrictions in place at the time.
The Southport Hesketh Round Table would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that came out to see the Santa float and everyone that donated to the charity.
Marc Foreman, Vice Chairman estimates that they’ve raised over £5,000 in donations.
Marc said: “We are very pleased and humbled with the atmosphere that the Santa float brought to the thousands of families of Southport in December. Especially within the tier system restrictions we managed to do all of our usual routes as well as the new Kew Estate route that we will hope to do every year going forward.
“It’s amazing what a group of guys can do in a short space of time. This year was also a first for a float-route sponsor, with ACF Tax, Churchtown sponsoring the Kew Route night. We’re now looking at sponsors for this year’s float routes, so if any local businesses would like social media advertising/sponsorship and a ‘shout-out from Santa’ to contact us on our Facebook page.
“We have a long list of people to thank, like Massams for the Christmas Tree, Formby Car Electrical for the battery power for lighting, Victoria Park/Flower Show for the use of the barn to build the float and dismantle it afterwards, DPI Signage for producing the new test donations signs, Barlows Trailers for the float trailer and a huge thanks goes to Chris & Sue Shaw for pulling the float with their bright truck every night in December.”
