Baby attacked by dog in park

A baby boy was attacked by a dog yesterday afternoon in Marian Gardens, in Netherton.

The 17 month old baby boy was bitten by a dog and taken to hospital by air ambulance to be treated for a non-life threatening leg injury.

It happened at around 1.30pm on Sunday 7th February

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “The dog has been seized and its owner will be questioned by police. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. “Anyone with information is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter, 'Merseyside Police Contact Centre' on Facebook, call 101 or the independent charity @CrimestoppersUK anonymously, on 0800 555 111, with reference 21000082136.”
