A 90-year-old from Lathom has run seven miles in memory of his friend who passed away from cancer.
Dennis Adelsberg didn’t let his age get in the way last weekend as he ran the route of the Parbold Hill Race, which is roughly seven miles.
With the help of his running partner, Andrew Dalron, Dennis completed the run in around three hours – and even had a chance to enjoy a cup of tea with a shot of whiskey half way through!
He did the challenge in memory of his friend, Richard, who died at the age of 51 in November last year. So far he has raised more than £1,800.
His proud daughter, Gillian, said: “The run went well! He said he doesn’t feel like he actually did it because he has no aches or pains! It took around three hours in bad weather and he said he couldn’t have done it without Andrew.
“To still be running at 90 is unbelievable and he is one amazing man.”
Dennis is still welcoming donations. To donate, see here: https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/deniss-giving-page-13
