An actor from Skelmersdale is the star of a new BBC Three drama series.
The Break has returned to BBC Three for its fifth successful series, which is a collaboration between BBC Studios, BBC Writersroom and BBC Three.
It is bold short form drama series reflecting modern life in the UK, created by up-and-coming talent.
This year the series features Skelmersdale local Niamh Longford, who earned the lead role of May in The Break, fresh from graduating top of her class at the University of Central Lancashire.
Niamh started her training at Skelmersdale’s own West Lancashire College where she regularly performed to rave reviews - and earned a multitude of accolades for herself and the college, including ‘National Operatic and Dramatic Association’ awards for her work in Shakespeare.
Now Niamh is very quickly garnering herself a great reputation as an actor in the television industry.
Annalisa Dinnella (BBC script writer) said about Niamh: “A star in the making. Everyone must cast her in everything from now on”.
Aurora Fearnley (renowned film/ TV director) referred to Niamh as: “A star on the rise. A complete natural on set”.
