‘ENJOY yourselves safely’ is the latest message from police chiefs, to ‘prevent another rise in coronavirus cases.’
Mersyside Police Chief Inspector Pete Clark said: “The further easing of lockdown restrictions is another positive step forward, and officers will continue to be out on patrol across Merseyside to offer guidance to the public and ensure people are meeting safely.
“We want everyone to enjoy this new stage of relaxed guidelines, and we expect to see increased numbers of people in our towns, however I want to reiterate the importance of following the guidance that remains in place to ensure that we can continue with the progress that has already been made.
“We know that people will want to catch up with loved ones, but please bear in mind that the rule of six still applies, with a maximum of six people in total being able to meet outdoors, or any number of people from only two households. Beer gardens and restaurants with outdoor seating will also reopen, and we will be working closely with our partners to ensure seating rules are being followed.
“By acting considerately and responsibly, we can prevent another rise in Covid cases and continue moving towards the complete relaxation of lockdown restrictions.”
