Smash and grab at store

by Danielle Thompson (April 2021)

MOBILE phones and jewellery were taken in a smash and grab at Cash Converters in Southport.

Two unknown offenders gained entry to the premises on Eastbank Street at around 4.50am on Wednesday, April 21, damaging the front window of the shop. It is believed that the offenders made off from the scene on pedal bicycles. They are described as male, aged between 18 and 20 years old and dressed in black.

Forensic and witness enquiries are ongoing.

Merseyside Police Inspector James Halpin said: “I would appeal for anyone who was in the vicinity of Eastbank Road early this morning who was anything or anyone suspicious, to contact us.

“Similarly I would ask anyone who was driving in the area who may have captured something on dash cam footage to get in touch. Any information you hold could be vital to our investigation to help us find the people responsible and bring them to justice.”
