Auto centre team’s fundraiser is revving up to be a classic!

by Danielle Thompson (April 2021)

THE team at Southport Auto Centre are to stage a classic car and motorbike-themed fundraising event for charity in July.

The event will be held from 10am-4pm on Saturday, July 31 at the centre on Wright Street to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, one of the largest British charities, which provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.

As well as a ‘large number of classic motorcycles and cars along with lots of other historic transport related machines’, the event will also feature raffle prizes, refreshments and exclusive items to buy on the day.

You can find out more by searching for ‘Southport Auto Centre’ on social media site Facebook.

Staff at Southport Auto Centre told the Champion: “We have held two previous fundraising events giving the opportunity for people to display their classic cars, motorcycles and other old transport related machines. There will be lots going on during the event with loads to see and refreshments available all day - it promises to be a great community and family event for all ages.

“We had to cancel last year’s event, so hopefully all will go to plan for this year. This year’s charity is the fantastic Macmillan Cancer Support.

“We are trying to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan, all money raised goes to the charity. If any businesses would like to donate anything motoring-related that would be wonderful.

“We will also be having a small stall on the day selling various items and we are happy to promote any business.

“Thank you to all customers, volunteers, friends and businesses who help to make this event possible. It’s been a very difficult time recently for everyone, so we’re really looking forward to staging the event.

“Stay safe, take care.. we look forward to seeing you at our fundraiser”
