TWO men were arrested after drugs, suspected stolen clothing and cars were seized in Ainsdale.

At around 8.55pm on Monday, April 26, patrols carried out a stop search of a man in Sandbrook Road, before subsequently searching a property on the street. During the search, they seized a quantity of cash, suspected cannabis and cocaine and items of suspected stolen designer clothing.

During a search of the garden, a number of suspected stolen cars and car parts were also located.

An 18-year-old man and a 44-year-old man, both from Sefton, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs, theft of motor vehicle and two counts of burglary other than a dwelling. They have since been released under investigation.

Detective Inspector Chris Smith said: “An investigation is underway following a significant seizure of drugs and suspected stolen items in Ainsdale and, thankfully, due to the quick thinking of patrols in the area, these harmful drugs have now been prevented from reaching our communities.

“Information from the public plays a vital part in targeting individuals involved in the supply of drugs and serious and organised crime, and I would like to continue to urge our communities to come forward to us, or to Crimestoppers completely anonymously, so that we can take action.”

Anyone with information on the supply of drugs is asked to contact @MerPolCC, 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
