There will soon be an unusual sight for Crosby beach-goers after plans were revealed to place a double-decker bus, which has been transformed into a bar, on the promenade!
The pop-up bar, called The Bus Yard, will be on the bottom floor of the bus, with a rooftop terrace above to give stunning views of the beach for anyone lucky enough to get a table.
There will also be a fenced courtyard with mores seating available, as well as a mobile kitchen container placed next to the bus to accommodate more people.
The business partners behind the project are Andy Laird, Darren Ryder and Anthony Smith, who are hoping to open up early next month.
It will be placed on the promenade, between the lake at Crosby Lakeside and the beach itself, for a 28 day period.
Locals will be able to enjoy drinks and food seven days a week from 11am to 8pm.
Andy told the Champion: “We’ve been speaking to Sefton Council about this for around a year now and we’re really excited to open.
“The council wanted to bring something different to this area. Not just a ‘scran van’ serving bacon butties but somewhere where people can go to enjoy nice cocktails, premium beers and quality food.
“We’ve been speaking to them about littering and noise to make sure there are no concerns. We feel like Crosby hasn’t got something like this especially next to the seaside.
“We’ll be there for 28 days to test the water to see how it goes.”
