ORMSKIRK and Skelmersdale Police has welcomed a new Chief Inspector and he has said his priority is to “build more trust and confidence with the community.”
CI Abbott is looking forward to taking on his new role. He said: “It’s fantastic to be back in West Lancashire.
“I’ve gone full circle from working in Skelmersdale as Sergeant to coming back as a Chief Inspector.
“It means a lot to me to come back and serve the local community of West Lancashire. I want to work with members of the public and my priority is to listen to people, to build more trust and confidence with the community and let them know that we will act on the priorities they tell us about.
“One of the ways people can tell us about their concerns is through Lancashire Talking (www.stayintheknow.co.uk/LancashireTalking) and I would encourage communities to sign up, our neighbourhood teams can then act upon those concerns.”
CI Abbott will also be responsible for the new Skelmersdale Police Station which will reopen later this year. He added: “The station will be at the heart of West Lancashire and is going to allow us to be more effective in keeping people safe. We are really looking forward to moving back to Skelmersdale.”
