Vaccine volunteer ‘proud’ to help out

by Tom Martin (May 2021)

A SOUTHPORT lecturer has revealed how volunteering with St John’s Ambulance to help the NHS battle against the pandemic has given him a sense of pride.

Tim Ablett, who is a Health & Social Care Lecturer at Wigan & Leigh College, has been volunteering since March at a pharmacy in Sefton to administer vaccines to locals.

The lecturer, who trained in order to give the jabs, said: “It makes you feel proud that you’re helping people and they are so appreciative and feel like they can start to live their lives again.

“It’s good to be part of the team and to have a sense of helping to get the world straight again.”
