GOLF fans will be to watch some of the legends of the sport in action in Formby later this summer when it hosts the PGA Seniors Championship.
The Legends Tour’s flagship tournament the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship will take place at Formby Golf Club and Formby Ladies Golf Club, from July 29 to August 1.
Organisers are hopeful that spectators will be allowed to attend and a limited number of flexible tickets to see the tournament have now gone on sale.
All tickets for the event, will be subject to UK Government health guidelines, with a comprehensive refund policy in place should spectators not be able to take up their places due to on-going Covid-19 restrictions.
Formby Golf Club is one of the world’s great links courses and will play host to the tournament for the first time this year.
The field will contain some of the best golfers aged over 5 , and it is hoped former Masters winner Ian Woosnam and Thomas Bjorn, who captained the winning European Ryder Cup team in 2018, will be in the field.
Phillip Price will defend the title he won in 2019 when he triumphed at London Golf Club on his way to winning the John Jacobs Trophy for topping the Order of Merit at the end of the year.
The Celebrity Ambassadors (Harry Redknapp, Sir AP McCoy, Dan Walker, Georgie Bingham and Glen Johnson) will all be playing in the Celebrity Pro-Am.
Ticket prices for the 2021 Staysure PGA Seniors Championship will begin at £10 for the first event of the innovative Celebrity Series Pro-Am on Wednesday July 28, increasing to £15 for adults and £10 for concessions (over 50s) for each day of the tournament, which runs from Thursday, July 29 – Sunday August 1.
Under 16s will be admitted free of charge and car parking is priced at £5 per car. Spectators who are intending to use the Park and Ride service must purchase a parking pass.
