TWO men were arrested after an hour-long police chase through the streets of Sefton ended in dramatic scenes when police forced the car to stop in Crosby.
The high-speed chase began at around 11.45pm on Monday, May 31 after the hot-hatch Ford Fiesta ST was seen racing along Long Lane in Aintree.
Police cars and a helicopter was tasked with following the vehicle and the hour-long pursuit ended on Brownmoor Lane, in Crosby.
Pictures from the police show how the windscreen was smashed and the tyres deflated after the use of the stinger, which is used to stop a vehicle.
A 26-year-old man from West Derby was arrested on suspicion of aggravated taking of a motor vehicle and dangerous driving.
A 28-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of aggravated taking of a motor vehicle; dangerous driving; drug driving; driving without a licence or insurance; and disqualified driving.
