YOUNG performing stars enjoyed week-long fun summer school in Formby.
The past year has been tough on the sector and for Emily Fletcher, who runs STAR Performing Arts in Formby and her fiancé Ray Quinn, an actor who won Dancing on Ice in 2009, all work ground to a halt at the start of the pandemic.
To celebrate the start of the hoped return to normality, STAR Performing Arts held a Summer School for children aged five-12 on the first week of August at St Luke’s Primary School.
Emily said: “After our work coming to a grinding halt last year, this year we just want to make the most of finally opening our doors again and welcoming a whole new array of talent and new faces! “My work is my passion and as well as teaching the arts, I pride myself on knowing each individual student who comes to take part in our classes. I see children grow in confidence, improve in dance and singing and blossom as individuals. For most children all activities stopped, or they could only take part in zoom classes online.
“I believe there is nothing more fulfilling than being part of a club and engaging in something you love to do with your friends, who all share the same passion and now we can do just that.”
