CHILDREN from St Richard’s Primary School in Skelmersdale have taken part in an exciting programme to learn about how business works and prepare them for an exciting future as entrepreneurs.
The Virgin Money project works by developing leadership, team-working, problem solving and money management.
All of the Year three children, with the support of their teachers, Miss Morgan and Mrs Leadbetter, designed their own business ideas.
These included a slime shop, sweet shop, personalised pencil cases, a school magazine and even customized face masks. Each child started with just £5, giving them £150 as a class, but following their advertising campaign and successful shops they turned this into £457! A massive 200% profit.
A school spokesperson said: “Look out for these future entrepreneurs with this early start they could be the Richard Bransons of the future.”
